Resilience Strategies

Validation-First (Prevent cascading failures):

  • Validate structure, content, business rules early
  • Fail fast on invalid data
  • Provide clear error feedback

Intelligent Retry (Recover from transient failures):

  • JMS inbound/outbound retry
  • Exponential backoff (initial: 1s, multiplier: 2x, max: 60s)
  • Max retries: 3-5 attempts
  • Dead letter queue for permanent failures
  • Distinguish transient vs permanent errors

Cached Enrichment (Reduce external calls):

  • OData content enricher with cache
  • OData batch GET requests
  • Set appropriate TTL
  • Handle cache misses gracefully

Graceful Degradation (Continue with reduced functionality):

  • Provide defaults when enrichment fails
  • Continue with available data
  • Log degradation events
  • Offline mode support

Error Type Handling
