🚀 Quick Start (30 seconds)

Method 1: Bookmarklet (Recommended)

👉 Open the Installer Page

Make sure your Bookmarks Bar is visible (Ctrl+Shift+B)
Open bookmarklet-install.html and drag the green button to your bookmarks bar
Go to web.whatsapp.com
Click the "WA Chat Exporter Pro" bookmark
Select chats → Click "Start Export" → Done!

Method 2: Browser Console

Open web.whatsapp.com
Press F12 → Console tab
Paste the entire contents of src/whatsapp-chat-exporter.js
Press Enter

Understanding the Settings

Pro Tips

Export long chats: Set chat scroll pages to 50+ and be patient — each page is ~20 messages
Big backup: Enable "Merge into one file", select all chats, and let it run
Search first: Use the search bar on WhatsApp Web sidebar to find specific chats, the tool will detect them
File location: Exported files go to your browser's default Downloads folder

❓ FAQ

Q: Does this violate WhatsApp's Terms of Service? A: This tool reads what's already rendered on your screen. It doesn't intercept or modify WhatsApp's network requests. However, always review WhatsApp's ToS before use.

Q: Can WhatsApp detect this? A: It's just JavaScript running in your own browser, same as any browser extension. It doesn't interact with WhatsApp's servers.

Q: Will it export media files? A: Media (images, videos, audio) are marked as [Media file] in the export. The actual files are not downloaded.

Q: How do I export a very long chat? A: Increase "Chat scroll pages" to a higher number. Each scroll loads ~20 more messages. For a year-long chat, try 50–100 pages.

Q: My browser tab crashed during export! A: Export smaller batches (select fewer chats at once) or use a shorter scroll depth. Very long exports use memory.

Q: Does it work on WhatsApp Desktop app? A: The desktop app uses a similar WebView — it may work, but is not officially tested.

🎮 使用指南

启动工具后，WhatsApp Web 右侧会出现一个浮动面板：

选择导出目标 — 勾选要导出的联系人/群组
深度爬取设置 — 调整侧边栏滚动深度、聊天滚动页数、延迟时间
选择格式 — Markdown 或纯文本
开始导出 — 文件自动保存到浏览器「下载」目录
